Fitbit is an awesome company that makes really cool fitness tracking smart watches. Their awesome products track daily steps, heart rate changes, incoming texts, and more. But what happens if you purchase a Fitbit and find that it’s not right for you?

What Is Fitbit Return Policy?

The terms of Fitbit’s return policy are as follows (please note this only applies to purchases made directly from the company via their online store).

You may return your Fitbit for a full refund if you are unsatisfied for any reason— as long as these three conditions are met:

  1. You must return your Fitbit within 45 days of shipment
  2. The Fitbit itself and all of its accessories must be a) in good condition and b) in their original packaging
  3. You must have a return authorization number

How To Return Fitbit Products

If you’re trying to return your Fitbit and you meet all of the aforementioned requirements outlined in their policy, here’s how to go about initiating your return.

Initiate your return in one of the following ways:

  1. On the Fitbit website:
    • Navigate to the return tool, input your order number and billing zip code, follow the subsequent listed instructions
  2. By phone:
    • Call (877) 623-4997 and give the requested information to your customer service representative, then follow their instructions
  3. Via Live Chat
    • Go to Fitbit’s Contact Support Page and click “Live Chat.” Once an agent joins the chat give them the requested information and then follow their instructions.

4. You should have received your return authorization number from the method you used.

5. Place your Fitbit and all accessories in the original packaging

6. Ship to the specified address

How Strict Is The Fitbit Return Policy?

Given that you can return your unwanted Fitbit for any reason we have decided that the return policy is not very strict at all. They seem to be very understanding and give you a generous 45 day window to return your purchased Fitbit for a refund.

Fitbit Exchange Policy

Fitbit does not currently offer exchanges on their products. If you purchased your Fitbit from a third party retailer, however, they may have a different exchange policy and you may be able to exchange your Fitbit for another item from their store.

Fitbit Refund Policy

As long as you meet the three requirements listed above you will be able to return your Fitbit for a full refund. Again, this is only for the Fitbit website itself. Refund policies for third party retailers may differ from Fitbit’s policy.

What Items Cannot Be Returned To Fitbit?

The only times you will not be able to return your item to Fitbit is if you are attempting to make a return outside of the 45 day window, are attempting to return an item without the original packaging, are attempting to return an item that has been damaged or is no longer in good condition, or are attempting to return an item without a return authorization code.

Does Fitbit Have Free Returns?

We were unable to discern whether returns are free when returning an item to Fitbit. Despite looking closely at their website we didn’t find an answer to this commonly asked question. We did, however, find that Fitbit is unable to reimburse you for shipping costs if you return an item for a refund,

Can I Return Fitbit Products After Use?

Yes. You can return your Fitbit after you try it out as long as you adhere to the policy requirements for making a return. This means your Fitbit must be in good condition (as must the accessories). You must also return it in the original packaging and include all accessories. Returns must be made within 45 days of purchase and you must have a return authorization code.

How Long Do Fitbit Refunds Take?

We were also unable to find out how long it takes Fitbit to issue your refund after you return your item to them. We would hazard a guess that it would take around the industry standard of 7 to 10 business days to receive your funds.

Does Fitbit Accept Returns After 30 days?

Yes. You have 45 days to return your Fitbit to the company after you purchase it.
