JB Hi-Fi is an Australian company that primarily promotes and sells electronics. They’re very much like America’s Best Buy. They are the 7th largest electronics and home appliance retailer in the world. They didn’t reach that pinnacle by ignoring their customers.

JB Hi-Fi will price match any competitor’s price on an identically stocked product. So when it comes to price matching, JB Hi-Fi embraces it wholeheartedly.

Not only does JB offer price matching for its in-store products, but also online products, including shipping and delivery costs. JB does have several exclusions, also listed on the link above. 

JB Hi-Fi Price Adjustment Policy In 2022

JB Hi-Fi doesn’t have a direct policy on price adjusting in 2022.

In case you need to familiarize yourself with the term, price adjusting is a policy in which a retail outlet will pay you the difference in price for a product you purchase elsewhere, that is lower than theirs.

As a part of the JB Hi-Fi FAQS page, JB is straightforward about how they would deal with a price drop after a product has been ordered from them. According to JB Hi-Fi, “You will always pay the lowest price.”

For the above example of a price drop post-online order, JB Hi-Fi will issue a refund in the form of a refund for the price difference, store credit, or the purchase of an item in-store that is of equal value. 

Altogether, it’s not a bad deal, as prices drop all of the time, so it’s not uncommon for there to be a price drop soon after ordering a product online.

JB Hi-Fi Price Matching Policy Explained

As far as JB Hi-Fi is concerned, you will pay the lowest price. Their only exceptions are for the above-listed reasons, which make sense from JB Hi-Fi’s standpoint. No retail chain in their right mind would price match clearance items, membership discounts, or imported goods from out of the country.

As JB states on their website, “A JB Deal applies to identical products in stock at both the competitor and the relevant JB Hi-Fi store at the time of price matching.” Outside of the sensible exclusions, JB Hi-Fi is known for honoring its stance on price matching pretty thoroughly.

Can Items On Sale Be Price Adjusted At JB Hi-Fi?

It depends largely on what “on-sale” means. One of JB Hi-Fi’s exclusions on their price matching policies is any item that is on clearance. Interpreting that would mean that in all likeliness, JB wouldn’t honor an identical item that is on clearance or “on-sale” elsewhere. 

Since so many of these things are handled on a case-by-case basis, it would be advisable to take your potential price adjustment to your local JB Hi-Fi and check with them. 

Often enough, these things are handled by the management and you never know whether one manager would grant the price adjustment where another wouldn’t.

What Items Are Included Under The Price Match Policy?

Any item that is identical to a stocked item at JB Hi-Fi is eligible for a price match. If JB is carrying a TCL 65” 4K Smart TV for $895 and a competitor is carrying the exact same TV for $829, JB will price match it.

That’s any product that is sold at JB Hi-Fi, so the list is quite extensive. So long as it is an identical product and an Australian competitor, JB will honor any price match. 

Does JB Hi-Fi Have A Change Of Mind Policy?

Change of mind is honored only if the product is unopened and essentially in the same exact condition as it was when you walked out of the store with it. 

You have to bring it back within thirty days of the purchase date on the invoice and the product is subject to JB Hi-Fi’s Terms and Conditions and Refunds and Warranties policies.

Does JB Hi-Fi Price Match Officeworks?

Officeworks is a direct competitor with JB Hi-Fi, so yes, JB will price match Officeworks. Anytime you see a product in-store or online at JB Hi-Fi, jump on the website for Officeworks and see if you can locate the same product.

If you can and it is cheaper at Officeworks, you’ll be able to get a price match with JB Hi-Fi.

Does JB Hi-Fi Price Match Amazon?

Most likely the answer is no and would probably boil down to whether or not that particular JB store has a manager that’s open to the idea.

Part of the exclusionary list on the JB Hi-Fi’s website includes “subscription prices,” which can often put Amazon Prime members in a lurch.

Does JB Hi-Fi Price Match Harvey Norman?

Harvey Norman is Australia’s leading retailer and sells similar products to JB Hi-Fi. According to JB Hi-Fi’s price match policy, Harvey Norman would be included in the list of retailers that JB would price match against.

If you spend a lot of time on forums, especially those forums that are indigenous to Australia, JB Hi-Fi hasn’t always been a big supporter of price matching. However, something changed around 2020, and that no longer seems to be the case.

According to JB Hi-Fi’s own policy, stated clearly on their website, they will price match. So get it while it lasts because, as is often the case, all good things must come to an end.
