They offer fairly priced home and garden furnishings among other household items. Their return policy is quite straightforward, but is it good enough? Let’s take a look.

Can You Return an Online Purchase to the Store?

If you have purchased items online at Marshalls.com you can only return them to a Marshalls store, not a sister brand or their online stores. If you have purchased your item through PayPal or Apple Pay this means you have more cover when it comes to getting a refund as these services will help you.

Does Marshalls Accept Returns After 30 Days?

Their current returns policy is 40 days. If you return an item either in-store or by mail within 40 days then you are eligible for a full refund either in cash or to the original payment method.

You can even return items after 40 days have passed but you will only be offered a merchandise credit instead. 40 days is slightly longer than most retailers and this is a big factor when picking where to purchase from.

Marshalls state that anything that has been bought in-store must be returned in-store and not online. Any item has to be unworn, unaltered and unwashed; its condition must resemble the condition that it was when sold.

Final sale items such as ball gowns, handbags over $400, items worth over $1000 and any beauty or cosmetics that look as if they have been opened cannot be returned.

How Long Do Marshalls Refunds Take?

If you return by mail, within 40 days, you should receive the refund within 10 to 14 days, depending on the billing cycle. 

If you return an item in-store, within the 40 days of purchase, it will be refunded to the original payment method used within a few days. 

To conclude, Marshalls do have a good return policy in the fact that you can actually get your money back if you return the parcel within 40 days, and even if you don’t manage it in that time frame, you can still get merchandise credit.

The only issue is that the shipping label they provide automatically changes you $10.99 if you return by mail, this could be a big chunk out of your potential refund.
