The best deals of the year arrive when Black Friday emerges from the shopping shadows. Always held in November, these deals force brands to compete with one another like a Hunger Games war, and the winner is inevitably the customer.

Micro Center is no exception to this yearly fight for customer attention, and we are going to show you how to utilize their policies!

How Micro Center Adapted in 2020, Will It Be The Same in 2021?

Normally Black Friday is a one-day event, but some retailers extend the celebration into a weekend affair. In 2020, Micro Center was determined to allow their customers the adrenaline-pushing experience of Black Friday, but they had to keep the national limited numbers.

To combat the restriction, they celebrated Black Friday from 11/02/2020 to 11/30/2020, creating a month-long event with smaller groups of customers.

So far, there has been no announcement about their 2021 sale. However, we are sure that they will allow their customers the same opportunity and will keep Black Friday alive, even if that means smaller numbers but longer shopping days.

Micro Membership Policy

Micro Center has a Priority Care membership program which gives its members exclusive benefits for technical support services. These services aren’t available to non-members.

When you call or email technical support, your priority status is immediately flagged, and your problems are dealt with as quickly as possible. 

You also have access to longer technical support hours, reaching midnight on weekdays and saturday.

This support is also available for your Black Friday items, so you can buy what you need in-store without worrying about damages or technical issues.

Micro Center Price Matches

Micro Center does have a price match promise, however, the guarantee becomes null and void during Black Friday. Do not rely on this promise to get a refund.

Usually, Micro Center’s price match promise would refund you the price difference of a competitor’s sale price of the same model numbered product.

However, they already had some finicky rules to get the guaranteed reimbursement before the Black Friday block came in.

The competitor that is selling at a lower price must have the item in stock and must be shipped by the competitor themselves and not by a third party.

If the competitor is Brick & Motors, then the store closest to your Micro Center must also have the product in stock.

If the product is any of the below, then the price match is void:

• Clearance Items
• Competitor’s Coupons/Promotions
• Off-Lease Items
• Open-Box Items
• Out of Stock Items
• Mail-In Rebates
• Refurbished Items
• Special and Time-Limited Sales – Including Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday.

Micro Center Price Protection 

If Micro Center has lowered the price of a product within 30 days of your purchase, then they will refund the difference back to the card you paid for it with. However, this policy doesn’t apply on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

If you plan on buying a product before Black Friday, avoiding the queues and The Purge, so you can claim your price protection when the storm clears, we are sorry to say that this will not work.

Open-box and clearance listed items are also exempt from price protection.

If you used a credit card or debit card, the price difference would be sent to the same account. If you used American Express or Micro Center’s own credit card, you can contact the support page and start up the chatbox for customer support to help send the money back to the same account.

If you paid in cash or by cheque, you can go to your local Micro Center store and show them the recipe. They will give you the difference in cash.

Micro Center Credit Card

Using the Micro Center Credit Card, you instantly receive 5% off every purchase every day once a day.  Their small print doesn’t mention a Black Friday exemption.

The only orders the 5% off doesn’t apply to are ship-out orders. This means that when you go Black Friday shopping in Micro Center, make sure to use their credit card!

The card also gives you special financing for 6 months if you buy over $240. This is only available if your finances have been approved and only work in store.

However, using this feature during Black Friday means you can pay back your credit card in more manageable installments for a lesser charge.

Even if you did not qualify for the 6 months special financing, the first 36 months give you 0% APR, so you feel financially secure knowing that you won’t be racking up a large debt.

Can You Bargain At Micro Center?

Yes, you can negotiate on refurbished, open box, and floor display items as they have been “used” by the store. These types of items are exempt from Price Protection and Price Matches due to this reason.
