Auto parts can get expensive, especially if you’re investing in a major tune-up. So, what could be more annoying than suddenly finding a lower price on parts you already bought? While some stores have accommodating price match policies, others won’t be so willing to adjust their prices. Where does this leave you if you bought your parts at NAPA Auto?
NAPA Auto Parts doesn’t have a companywide price match policy but that doesn’t mean you’re out of luck. Most NAPA Auto shops are individually owned and if you speak with the manager, they’ll likely help adjust the price as best as possible. Of course, this varies from store to store so don’t be surprised if they say no.
Keep reading to learn more about NAPA Auto Part’s price match and return policies, as well as more information about which auto stores willingly adjust their prices.

Why Do Stores Offer Price Matching?
Major retailers generally offer price match guarantees as a way to bring in more customers. When major chains match their competitors’ prices, customers have no reason to choose one brand over the other, especially if they both sell similar items. Retailers benefit by gaining extra business and customers benefit by getting the lowest price possible.
Not all major brands offer price match policies, though, so be sure to check online before you walk into a store expecting a discount. Target and Walmart both price match but other large brands are not as willing to offer discounts.
NAPA Auto Parts’ Price Match Policy
The official NAPA Auto Parts website makes no mention of available price match or price adjustment policies. Many would assume that this means NAPA doesn’t allow price matching but, upon further research, we discovered that most NAPA Auto stores are owned and operated by individual shop owners.
While each shop owner sets their own policies, it seems as if most are willing to make some sort of adjustment based on their competitors’ prices. So, if you find a lower price on a product you purchased at NAPA Auto Parts, you may be able to get a price match discount depending on who owns the store.
Will NAPA Auto Parts Price Match Amazon?
It all depends on the store and store owner. Some NAPA Auto Parts managers may be willing to price match Amazon but it’s not guaranteed. Since Amazon often offers highly discounted prices, it’s unlikely that a brick-and-mortar NAPA store will match the same price.
If it’s a smaller part, you’re likely better off just buying it directly from Amazon. You’ll save money and the effort of driving to the store. However, if you’re buying a larger part, it’s best to buy from the store where you can guarantee the quality.

Will NAPA Auto Parts Price Match Advance Auto Parts?
NAPA and Advance Auto Parts are two of the biggest competitors in the automotive industry. They both offer low prices, quality parts, and friendly customer service, but is NAPA willing to match Advance Auto’s prices? Again, it all depends on the store.
Most NAPA store owners seem willing to make a price adjustment for products bought at similar brick-and-mortar stores, such as Advance Auto. That being said, though, there’s no guarantee that a NAPA store will 100% price match an Advance Auto part. If you can’t get a price match, you’re better off buying from Advance Auto.
Will Advance Auto Parts Price Match NAPA Auto?
Interestingly, although NAPA Auto Parts won’t explicitly price match Advance Auto Parts, Advance Auto is 100% willing to price match its competitors. According to Advance Auto Parts’ webpage,
“Advance Auto Parts will match the price of any identical or substantially comparable product (product must be available the same day) at any competitor’s store or website.”
This means you can bring a lower NAPA price into Advance Auto and immediately get a discount if:
- The price is still valid
- An Advance Auto Parts employee can verify the price
- Advance Auto Parts has the part in stock
Keep this in mind as you shop around for auto parts and don’t hesitate to go with the cheaper brand.

What is NAPA Auto Parts’ Return Policy?
If you are unsatisfied with a NAPA part or price, you can return the purchase within 30 days if you have a valid receipt. The item must be in its original condition and packaging. If you’re wary about how much you paid for a NAPA part, it’s best to keep the part packaged, find a lower price, and then send it back before buying a replacement.

Conclusion
NAPA Auto Parts offers no official price match policy but, based on user reports, individual store owners are generally willing to make small price adjustments. You’re more likely to get a price match on an item sold in a brick-and-mortar store than on Amazon.
If you find a lower price and NAPA isn’t willing to price match, return the item and buy the cheaper brand.
