Nordstrom’s return policy includes different caveats for online or in-store purchases. Depending on whether you have the receipt or item tags, you may receive a full refund or a refund in the form of a Nordstrom gift card. Nordstrom reviews each return on a case-by-case basis.
What Is the Nordstrom Return Policy?
Nordstrom accepts returns on a case-by-case basis. They do not have a set time limit for returns but can issue 50% partial refunds for returns they consider to be late. Refunds are issued to the original tender or as a store credit.
Nordstrom accepts apparel, footwear, home items, and accessories for refunds. You cannot return items marked Final Sale or Non-Returnable. Beauty items are also a final sale unless stated otherwise.
Your returned items must be in their original packaging. The items cannot have been worn, damaged, or altered.

How to Return a Product To Nordstrom
If you purchased your Nordstrom product at a store, you’ll need to return it in-person to any Nordstrom store. If you purchased your product at a Nordstrom boutique, you’ll need to return it to that same boutique.
Nordstrom Rack has a different return policy, only accepting returns on certain items within 45 days by mail or at a Nordstrom Rack or Nordstrom store.

For a Nordstrom online purchase, you can return it via mail, curbside return, or in-store.
If you do not have an order number for your online purchase, you cannot use the curbside return options. Curbside return is also not available for fine jewelry, designer, or opened baby gear items.
You can start your return on the Nordstrom website, where you’ll print out a prepaid shipping label. If you don’t have a printer, you can show a digital return code at a USPS location and they will print the label for you.
The original shipping charges for your online Nordstrom purchase will not be refunded.
Nordstrom Exchange Policy
Nordstrom does not have an exchange option or policy at this time. You will need to return your item and then re-order or re-purchase the correct item separately.
Nordstrom Refund Policy
If you’re returning your product to a Nordstrom store or via curbside return, you’ll receive a full refund if you have an order number and/or the original tags on the product. Refunds are returned to the original payment source within 5-7 business days.
If your product does not meet the parameters previously described, you’ll likely receive a refund as a Nordstrom credit via gift card instead. This is up to the discretion of the store attendant and also depends on whether they can track your purchase in their system or not.
Online refunds via mail are usually received within 10-14 business days. It then takes another 5-7 days for your refund to be processed and reflected on your payment source.

How Strict Is the Nordstrom Return Policy?
The Nordstrom return policy includes a rather vague caveat that allows them to review returns on a “case-by-case basis.” This leaves a lot of room for either leeway or strictness, depending on the sales attendant who is taking care of you.
Generally speaking, if your product is in its original condition, with tags and a receipt, you should have no problem returning your item for a full refund.

If you are returning a product in-store or via curbside return, you can receive a cash or gift card refund straight away. If your payment method was a debit/credit card or PayPal, it could take 5-7 business days to process your refund.
If you mail in your return, it is typically received within 10-14 business days. It will then take an additional 5-7 business days for your payment to be refunded to you.
What Is the Nordstrom Return Policy without a Receipt?
If you don’t have a receipt, Nordstrom will try to find your purchase in their system. This can be done if you paid with a debit/credit card or e-wallet, or if you have your order number. If they find your purchase, you may be refunded to your original payment source.
