O’Reilly Auto Parts is one of the biggest, and oldest names in the car parts industry. It serves both professional and individual customers and has more than 5000 stores all across the United States as well as some 20+ stores in Mexico. The company aims to be “the dominant supplier of auto parts in their market areas” while offering the “best of price, quality, and the highest possible service level”. In the light of their ambitious goals, our team has put the O’Reilly price match policy to the test and analyzed how well they stack up against their competition. If you want to know how to save money at O’Reilly pay close attention to the following article.
The questions that we are answering, are “Does O’Reilly price match?” as well as “Does O’Reilly price adjust?” Along with those two questions, we will also be talking about time limits to file your refund, possible exclusions, and more.
Without further ado, let’s jump right in.

Price Matching at O’Reilly
At O’Reilly’s the price match guarantee is known as “Low Price Guarantee“. Under this policy, which applies to retail locations only, O’Reilly will match the price of most local competitors. This includes AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, PepBoys, and all other traditional “car part” retailers. Stores that are not mainly working in the car-parts business, such as Walmart, Home Depot, and others might not always be matched. As usual, it typically comes down to the individual store manager’s discretion.
Conditions for a price match
- Items must be in-stock at both parties involved in the price match.
- The item you want to match must be comparable with the same warranty.
What about online stores?
While retail competitors’ prices will be matched, O’Reilly is currently unable to match prices from online retailers. They argue that those provide a lesser service (due to the lack of store buildings and floor personnel) which in turn allows them to be cheaper.
Price Adjustment at O’Reilly
Official policy at O’Reilly is not to adjust prices/apply coupons after a purchase has been made. Every sale is final for the purpose of a price adjustment. Now when it comes to the day-to-day application of said policy, you might be a bit luckier.
Support representatives have told us that certain store managers are willing to make an exception to the above-stated rule. Whether or not such an exception is granted, will most likely depend on the price difference as well as the amount of time that has passed since you bought the item.
Pro Tip! If you still have the item in its original packaging, unopened, and/or uninstalled you can simply return it. Get a refund and then buy the item again at a lower price. According to the official return & exchange policy, there is no time limit for such a return.

Tell me about their high prices I got a 51 inch brake line and two connectors at O’REALY auto parts and paid $21.17 Then I went to Hastings got 2 51 inch brake lines, 4 of the same connectors and paid $18.34 cents If I had gone to Hasting for that one line and two connectors it would have cost me $9.17 not $21.17 Is that a rip?
