Wayfair is a company that provides its customers with furniture and home goods. If you are decorating or looking to buy furniture for a new apartment or home, chances are you’ll likely visit a Wayfair store. When it comes to furnishing your home, it’s important to look out for quality items that are reasonably priced. This article details, policies surrounding whether Wayfair price match and also the company’s price adjustment policy.
There are likely questions you are asking. See what our experience was below and also check the comments for others who have attempted to price adjust with Wayfair.

Does Wayfair price match?
Wayfair does not price match their competitors. Once you paid for your merchandise, you can no longer apply any discount or coupon. Many customers have claimed they were offered a coupon for their next order when calling up their customer service.
That said, however, they still do match their “sister brands'” prices (Joss & Main, All Modern, Birch Lane, and Perigold).
Even though Wayfair does not price match any of their competitors, it still pays to know how such a match would work out. Have a look at our home page for a detailed description along with some really good examples. It’s also worth pointing out that some of Wayfair’s direct competitors do very well price match – Bed Bath & Beyond is just one of them.
Wayfair Gift Card
Shopping in home decor and furniture stores is an all-time favorite for many people. You can get gift cards in their store for your friends or family. Choose between a digital or a plastic gift card and the amount of money you want on the card.
Does Wayfair Price Adjust?
The second question that we are trying to answer here is “Does Wayfair price adjust?” – The answer is a clear maybe. While the official policy does not explicitly address this question, support reps have told us that a simple phone call typically suffices. If you are still within a 7-day timeframe from your date of purchase, simply call their support hotline at 844-477-7566 and ask for a partial refund. The same is true for any coupon you might find.
Tip: If you’re still within the refund period, you can return your product and purchase at the lower price. This is one way to get savings when brands don’t operate fairly.
Other ways to save money at Wayfair
With limited abilities to benefit from price matching & price adjustments, it’s even more important to know how else you can save at Wayfair’s. Here are some ideas.
- Daily Deals: Highly discounted deals on certain merchandise which are only available as long as the countdown hasn’t expired.
- Wayfair Credit Card: Their credit card offering comes with some perks as “money back” or “free shipping” – See the official page for details.
- Open Box: When buying an “open box” (aka a return from another customer) Wayfair offers you a discount.
- Sale Days: Sale days like “Black Friday”, “President’s Day” and similar will enable you to buy highly reduced merchandise.
- Return: If you find out that an item has been discounted within the return period, and the customer care team is unwilling to give you a price match, simply return the item and buy it again at a lower price.

Hi there!
You may wish to advise your article as this information in incorrect. Wayfair does not provide price matching internally or externally.
You can see the policy directly on their website by accessing the help center under billing and payment.
Wayfair stopped price matching as of 2019, but give them a call and ask them about how quotes work for a great alternative!
PMG Team says
Hi Rachel,
thanks for your comment. The article clearly mentions that only sister brands are matched.
Did you try and match one of their sister brands?
Best regards
PMG

I just checked an item I ordered a few days ago. The price had dropped $50 so I called for an adjustment. David at Wayfair says this is not company policy, even though my order was placed less than 7 days ago. I was very disappointed. Can you verify your sources?
PMG Team says
Hi Susan,
sorry to hear that. Our article clearly states that Wayfair does not price match/adjust its competitors.
The only “exception” thereof is if you buy from one of their sister brands.
Best regards

A company that can not do an adjustment within 7 days of purchase is not a company I care to do business with. I am thinking about keeping it to a local furniture company and ask them if they could do better on the price. This is what happens when company’s become to big, they forget about the customers who got them where they are today by word of mouth etc. Business is about customer service, if you don’t have happy customers you don’t have a business.

The price on an item I purchased 4 days ago dropped. Wayfair (corresponded with Donna E) said Wayfair will NOT price adjust if something purchased goes on sale – even four day from the purchase date

I called wayfair hours after I’d ordered a 5 x8 area rug for $134 (rounded). The new price was $117. The representative assured me that I’d get it for the $117. But, later an unprofessional person who said she was avril person in Wayfair’s Executive Resolution department, denied me the lower price. ISge told me to ignore what the customer service agent had told me.
I told her that I will be paying the $117.

Wayfair sold me a rug for $300 when it arrived it had a $200 Homesense (Winners) price tag on it for $199.99. I emailed Wayfair and they did not give me an adjustment but offered a 10% off coupon for my next purchase. There won’t be one, the brand is tarnished for me forever. Oddly enough, when I blocked Wayfair ads from my Facebook feed, I started to see Perigold Ads. Nice try.

I purchased a sofa on July 25th now the couch is on sale for $`120.00 less than I paid. Its been more that 7 days but I just noticed today August 9th that the price dropped. Can I get a price adjustment?
Thank you,

Just called because I placed an order 6 days ago and the price decreased. The rep told me no price adjustment and offered me a 10% coupon only! I won’t be doing business with them anymore!

Wayfair should be called Unfair! I found a couch that I loved with good reviews on Wayfair and purchased it, I get this immediate notification that it is out of stock (it didn’t say so on the site) so as I am waiting for my couch I check to see if there is an update and the couch is on sale for 6% off so I called and they will not match THIER OWN PRICE. I tried to cancel my order and they declined my cancellation. My delivery date is a month away and they said they can’t cancel it and get the better price. This will be my first and last order with Wayfair, this couch better be worth all this aggravation.
WAYFAIR SHAME ON YOU! Shopping for furniture should be fun and exciting and you should want to give your customers the best price.

I totally agree with your comments. I am so disappointed they won’t give me a price adjustment after 4 days. I never dealt with a company like this before and won’t ever again.

Purchased a media cabinet that was for $1492. I was notified for delivery today and looked at the cabinet on line. The price dropped to $999.00. I called I had purchased 8 days ago and he said no. I told him to cancel the delivery and order. Really not a good practice. I have purchased quite a bit of furniture from Wayfair. I guess they have so many customers they don’t have to be a honest or upright company.
